Many of you already know how I proposed, for those of you who don't I thought I would let you in on it. In February Courtney and I celebrated our 6th year of being together. For this occasion Courtney had planned for us a lovely little weekend getaway in Palm Springs, CA. I had something a little different planned for us. I informed Courtney that she needed to keep her schedule clear for Monday night. When I came home on Monday night Courtney was starving and wanted to go wherever it was we were going right now, and she wanted to eat. After stopping her from raiding the fridge and waiting for rush hour traffic to dissipate some we departed with Courtney still in the dark as to our final destination. As we left she suggested that we might stop at Costco to get hot dogs. She also made many guesses as to where we were going, and when she guessed Cibo, an Italian pizzeria we had visited in the past I confirmed that that was our destination. Once there we took a table on the beautiful patio and ordered our pizzas and wine. I had brought along two gifts and gave them to Courtney to open. The first gift was thin and long and with use of tissue paper was made to look like a flower and it was placed on top of a square and flat gift wrapped in "Simpsons" wrapping. I had Courtney unwrap the smaller gift first, which she found to be a permanent market. The second gift was a photo album (which will be available to view at the wedding). Towards the end of the album there were two pages, one with a hand drawn note asking "Will you marry me? (Please check one)." There were two boxes for her to use the marker on, a larger one labeled "YES!" and a smaller one marked "no : ( " At that time I got on one knee and offered her the ring. Her response was a long "Ohhhhhh!" and to immediately hug me. After a little while I prodded her "Well?" to which she replied "Yes of course!" and emphatically marked the "Yes" check box in the album. That is how Courtney came to be my fiancée.

(A few notes about the proposal book. I tried to make it look as close to the actual book as possible, text and all. If it doesn't make sense, don't worry, it's most likely an inside joke and it makes sense to us. Also, Dave is aware that my birthday is May 22nd not May 24th, that is just an inside joke too.)
